Documents Chapter 3

The ancient empires were not isolated as they each influenced each other, as many empires often had wars, trade or immigration, which allowed the possibility of spreading stories, religion and history with one another. Now these documents go further in depth as they talk about Greek and Persia's history, being told by a wealthy greek male. Named Herodotus, he wrote down the history during that time period which eventually was set as the first proof of history to the western world. He records the Persians as such great people through their religion, teachings and how humane they are. For religion they do not worship in temples, or altars but in holy places on the land. Not worshiping specific Gods but for the natural occurrences on the earth such as wind, sunlight, and the ocean. When they do worship they sacrifice an animal which varies on the status but they do not sacrifice the animal for their selfish desires but for the king, the people, and the empire itself. Secondly, they do adopt other empire's cultures or ideas which makes sense and allows the people to have variety. Another point, is that they do have status but it isn't important as much compared to other nations, even when used against slaves. Lastly, this empire has very specific rules for their men and father which is standard but on thing that stands out is the way they treat their kids. He now records Egypt and some of their cultural aspects which is very good. I didn't know that many Egyptians ate and did many things outside of their house unless it was using the bathroom and other various things unless it was shameful, telling me that they were people with pride and a lot of it. The landscape is beautiful as it is full of monuments or statues. They were religious and respected religion, however they were somewhat sexist when it comes to becoming a priest and other things regarding women. Now the way they treat the dead is special and is often looked as important. Lastly was the way they live and learn as they didn't mind living with animals, writing from the left to the right and drinking and cleaning up after themselves. Germania is a different case when it comes to the way they worked as they weren't very mixed by intercourse or immigration due to the area they thrived in. Now they worked differently to other empires or culturals because they did have a hierarchy but it was a king and their family linage and the general was elected through the people and merit. They didn't really use their voice and position but their actions to help and aspire their people. They were very serious when it came to marriage and how it is sacred but were very excited for war and everything about it. The Han dynasty was a bit different as it was had some parts where it was very nomadic and with lots of farm land and cattle. They relied mostly on the land and were happy with that until there were issues where they would raid and plunder other tribes or chiefs. There is an example of one person who did that and used many ways to keep his men in check and later took control of certain areas and when they war against other people they are fighting not only for their side but for themselves as they can have personal gains.
